Harris Way, Lee Mill

Work on the Cavanna Homes housing development at Parish Green, off Harris Way, Lee Mill has recently been completed.

John Grimes Partnership carried out civil and structural engineering design for the roads and drainage, retaining walls and house structures for the 65 house development. The estate roads were adopted under Section 38 Agreements and works at the junction with the existing highway were constructed under a Section 278 Agreement.  Foul and surface water drainage comprised private drains and adoptable sewers adopted under Section 104 Agreements.

The surface water drainage was engineered to accommodate the steeply sloping site and the variable ground conditions and infiltration rates. It comprised the use of soakaways in the west field and a cascade system of attenuation storage tanks in the east field with discharge to public sewer. Flows to public sewer were restricted to greenfield flows originating from the site.

The works were phased to enable Cavanna Homes to release the houses for sale in accordance with their sales programme. Most of the houses are now sold.
